Purpose
We believe the Bible is God’s inspired Word, the authoritative and trustworthy rule of faith and practice for Christians. The Bible is both timeless and timely, relevant to the common needs of all people at all times and to the specific problems of contemporary living. Therefore, we are committed to equipping Christians, through the preaching and teaching of God’s Word, to follow Christ in every sphere of life.
Beliefs
We believe in one eternal God, the source and goal of life, who exists as three persons in the Trinity: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. In love and joy, God creates and sustains the universe, including humanity, male and female, who are made in God’s image.
History
Morning Star Church began as a dream in the hearts of Josh and Cecil Wroten while they were still attending school at Trinity Baptist College in Jacksonville, Fl. In August of 2002, they moved from Jacksonville back to their native Bay Area to start Morning Star.
On October 9, 2002 the first official Bible study was held at the Courtyard by Marriott Hotel in Newark. Twenty-nine peopled attended. Over the next five months, Pastor Josh began developing a core group that would help officially launch the church.
