Joshua Wroten (Pastor)

Josh and Cecil Wroten grew up in the Silicon Valley. They met in high school and later married in June of 2000. After graduating in May of 2002 from Trinity Baptist College in Florida, they returned to the Bay Area to start Morning Star Church in Newark. They have a vision to develop a multi-ethnic church community where people can find real answers to life’s problems. They have been blessed with two children, Alanna Joy and Ethan Luke. Josh has a Master of Divinity degree from Golden Gate Seminary.

Josh also serves as the Director of Church Planting for Next Generation Churches of Northern California and Nevada (www.nextgenchurches.com). He loves encouraging church planters to maintain a healthy balance between ministry, family, and spiritual life. Locally, he serves on the board for CityServe, the tri-cities association of pastors and churches that are committed to meeting the needs of the community in the name of Jesus.

Andrew del Rosario (Worship/Youth)

Drew was born in San Francisco and has been a Bay Area native all his life. He grew up in church and accepted Christ when he was just 5 years old. Drew grew up in a musically gifted family and started singing in church when he was 4 years old. He started leading worship in church in 1999, has been playing guitar since 2003, and has been at MSC since December 2003. Drew is working full time at MSC as the Worship Leader and Youth Leader. Drew is driven by his passion to serve God in the music ministry at MSC. God has blessed him with the opportunity to lead worship and work with the youth at a church that carries the same ideals and goals that have carried him throughout his life. Drew and Cyanna have been married since May 2006 and live in the Fremont area. They have one son named Kai.

Ferdylin Amsden is our head of Nursery Ministry.

Nursery childcare is open during the 10:35am service.

Pam Stice (Elevate Kids)

Pam Stice is the head of Children’s Ministry at Morning Star.

Elevate Kids happens the first three Sundays of each month during the 10:35am service.
